When the temperatures cool off and the weather becomes crisp, you can count on enjoying numerous outdoor events in Ottawa, ranging from single social scenes, book clubs, outdoor adventure groups and family entertainment. The following events are just a few that will be taking place in our area:
- O-Town Hoedown from September 28th to October 6, 2012 O-Town Hoedown is 100% independent, with volunteer staff comprised of local musicians and music lovers. Everything we do is for the love of music, not money! The bands and songwriters we showcase are the best of the best indie-alt-country music in Ottawa. Shows are at Irene’s Pub on the 28th and 29th of September, and the Rainbow Bistro on the 5th and 6th of October.
- Treepot 4 Indie Filmmaker Showcase Celebrate independent filmmaking. After three successful events at movie theatres and parks, The Treepot Indie Filmmaker Showcase returns to the historic ByTowne Cinema. Treepot4’s line-up features short films and music videos by local independent filmmakers.
- Lisa Creskey: Images to Inhibit This exhibition consists of a body of ceramic sculptural work that investigates our concept of home and identity through the creative use of historical images of the city, region, and country.
- Ottawa Valley Crafts and Collectibles Show Ottawa’s newest art, crafts and collectibles show! Local artisans and vendors present an amazing collection of unique, expertly-crafted items, fine art, couture, beauty products, antique and vintage collectibles, and much more.
